Snap together magnetic blocks to build circuits in seconds (no soldering or wiring needed) Visit the LightUp Learning online community to access guided tutorials, view projects made by other kids, and share your own creations Build a burglar alarm, battery tester, musical instrument, and more (compatible with the Edison Kit) Learn key STEM concepts about circuits, programming, and engineering with the Tesla Kit Dream up and build infinite projects by combining electronics with the power of code LightUp combines the best of both worlds by bringing together an engaging hands-on electronics platform with an interactive iOS mobile app. LightUp kits introduce key STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) concepts, teaching kids how to explore their world with electronics and code. Kids can build projects by snapping together magnetic circuit blocks, and then use the LightUp Learning app (for iPad and iPhone) to interactively learn important concepts. The app includes introductory projects to get started, with new project ideas added every week. LightUp Lens, the in-app augmented reality feature, helps kids out when things don't work, and even gives them X-ray vision by letting them see electricity flow! Learn how to code with the Tesla Kit The Tesla Kit empowers kids to build the projects only they can dream up. The power of code lets them take their projects to the next level. Perhaps a music box that plays their favorite song, or a burglar alarm that alerts them when an intruder enters their room. The LightUp Learning app teaches them how to program the included Arduino-based microcontroller block, which can be plugged in and programmed from any web browser. Created by a Stanford teacher and engineer LightUp was created by Josh, a teacher, and Tarun, an electrical engineer, who met at Stanford University while running educational workshops. They couldn't find a product that excited kids while teaching them the skills and concepts they'd need as the scientists, engineers, and innovators of the future. They decided to create the product they were looking for.
